► Journey to the East

China was once called the Land of the Divine. Its 5,000-year civilization is rich, diverse and profound, and is believed to be inspired by the Gods. China’s ancient spiritual tradition of valuing virtue and kindness, represented by Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism and other cultivation practices, permeates all facets of Chinese culture, including Han costumes, martial arts, classical Chinese dance, etc.

Unfortunately, China’s spiritual and moral traditions have suffered unprecedented destruction under 60 years of communist rule, and are urgent need of a revival.

“Journey to the East” society is one of the efforts to re-establish and rediscover traditional Chinese culture and performing arts lost during the post-revolution, communist era in mainland China and to promote cultural exchange between the East and the West.

The society has been proudly authorised by New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV), currently the largest Chinese cultural event producer and promoter in New York City, to show its beautifully and uniquely produced feature programmes and films about Chinese Traditional Culture. Main content includes: Han costumes, Classical Chinese Dance, Chinese Martial Arts, Chinese traditional Qigong exercise, four great inventions and more… Something you never see anywhere else!

The society will screen films introducing various aspects of traditional Chinese culture, as well as organise discussions, etc. to facilitate understanding and communication.

All film screenings are free of charge, and everyone is welcome to subscribe to our e-newsletter, which include more information about our activities, traditional Chinese culture and relevant information, and even chances to get free gifts!

The society will also look at Chinese Traditional Qigong exercises and support human right and raise awareness of human right violations in China.
