I'm 19 years of age and I am currently on my second year at UCO studying BA Business management.
I stand as a candidate to run in the upcoming elections because I feel that I can represent all UCO students. I am approachable and any issues/concerns, regardless of whether it is minor or major can be brought to my attention with the full reassurance that your matters will be brought to light and dealt with. I have stood as an ordinary member as part of the student union and been very active in this role. As an ordinary member I have been approached with issues for example; the lack of guidance and support for students from abroad at the UCO campus. Student finance and other related issues regarding international students have to be processed through Huddersfield Uni which can sometimes be a hassle. I took this on board and proposed that we have assistance based in our Oldham Campus. I intend on following this through but I can only be your help at first hand if I am elected in! So vote for me to be your Committee Chair!
I dislike long term changes. We don't want change to take affect after we leave uni! I will work with the union to make reasonable changes ASAP to make YOUR uni experience here at UCO a lot more enjoyable.
