Life as a mature student has been a worthwhile and rewarding experience. Since being at the University, I have come across lot of issues which are faced by many students studying at the University. Ever since my school days I have always come to the aid of others in their difficult times. With your vote, I was elected as a member of Student Union Board last year and identified the following issues:
• Higher rates car parking.
• No sports facilities for males and females.
• Not enough support for mature and students with IT and language difficulties.
• Not enough halal provision and the prices are very expensive at University Canteen.
• Not big enough praying facility.
Once elected, I want to work with the University Management Board to resolve the issues identified and any other issues may arise in the future.
From my past experience I am well equipped to negotiate good deal on your behalf. I also want to make sure that I can become a positive role model for every student who studies at University Campus Oldham.
I would like to urge everyone personally to support me in my aspiration to become the Student Union Chairman at the UCO and give me the opportunity to work with everyone at University of Huddersfield.
